The Inkjet RoundUP explores the state-of-the-art as it relates to wide format signage printing. There were 24 different system configurations submitted by 11 suppliers. The results of this report will help users make informed buying decisions about the world’s leading wide format inkjet systems.

This report does not make recommendations on individual proprietary systems, but provides independent, un-biased, sound technical data on system performance and capabilities. We recommend you use the report to evaluate systems’ relevance to your specific business requirements and priorities.

The 2013 Inkjet RoundUP consisted of the following 10 tests:

  9. Weathering
  10. System Price

The data within highlights the relative strengths and weakness of the systems in a constructive manner that contributes to the improvement of key technology areas. Reviews of this nature improve our technologies and thus grow the opportunities for everybody in the wide and grand format market - that is the spirit in which this RoundUP process is offered to the community.

Devices studied used light or eco solvent inks, UV-curable inks or latex ink. Media used ranges from card stock to cast or calendared vinyl to rigid media including Coroplast. Viewing distances for these products range from point-of-purchase to greater distances for street signs, banners and billboards. Testing was coordinated via Ryerson University, Toronto and California Polytechnic State University (CalPoly).
