The Value of the Drawdown

Friday, January 25

2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time)

Brands and printers use drawdowns to approve and specify critical brand colors. If used correctly drawdowns can play a critical role in realistically defining a brand color, as well as providing a check on proofs and actual renditions of the spot colors. If used improperly drawdowns can set unrealistic expectations, leading to problems and the pressroom and unhappy customers. In this webinar our panelists will discuss how to get the most out of drawdowns and substrates across a wide supply chain, as well as outline ways that improper use of drawdowns can cause production headaches.

Topics to be discussed:

  • Using drawdowns on multiple substrates
  • How to correlate drawdowns to proof special colors
  • What to do when drawdowns from multiple suppliers do not match
  • Leading practices in the use of drawdowns

Moderators:

  • Ron Ellis, Brand Expert and Chair of the Idealliance Print Properties & Colorimetric Council
  • Timothy Baechle, CEO, Idealliance

Panelists:

  • Kevin Coneey, President/CEO, Universal Color Corp. (Megami)
  • Sonja Dearden, Print Production Manager, Lindt
  • Danny C. Rich, PhD, Senior Color Physicist, Sun Chemical Corp.
